What is the ERDRF?
The Emilie Rosebud Diabetes Research Foundation was established in 1998 with the sole mission of finding a cure for diabetes.Funds are contributed through individuals, foundations, companies and fund-raising events. All contributions are used specifically to fund research by specific doctors and clinics which are working on ground breaking research to cure diabetes. Additionally, ERDRF contributors have helped generate new jobs in the greater Kansas City area pertaining to diabetes research.

The Directors of the Emilie Rosebud Diabetes Research Foundation spend a considerable amount of time locating doctors throughout the country with the assistance of American Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Association, Children’s Mercy Hospital Diabetic Department and other experts in the field to locate the projects which are in need of funding in order to continue cutting edge research with the hopes of finding a cure.
This foundation and its events have aided our mission to channel 100% of every dollar contributed directly to the doctors for research.
Diabetes at the present time has no cure and is estimated to affect over 29.1 million Americans, many of whom are not aware they have the disease. Diabetes and the associated illnesses are considered to be one of the largest expenditures in the American healthcare system due to all of the additional medical conditions caused by diabetes including amputation, heart problems, loss of sight, liver damage, blood vessel damage and numerous other ancillary conditions which will continue to drain our healthcare dollars until a cure is found.
Research for diabetes is a necessity and your help is needed. Nearly every family in the United States either has a family member with or is a friend of someone who has diabetes. Please fill out our contact form or regularly check our website to stay up-to-date on future events that you can attend. Typically, these fundraisers include new entertainment complex openings, restaurant openings, musicals and formal dinner and dance events.
If you have any ideas or input on where our next fundraiser should be, tell us all about it by calling 816-412-7400 or filling out our contact form.
